*Sarazi Folk dance (Kudd) item of Doda District secured Ist at UT Level, selected for 26th National Youth Festival at Karnataka*_Rahi /Vijay Sharma_The young artists from Doda, hailing at UT Level Competition and selected for National Level Competition - Young Artist Sulinder Parihar Sarazi Said The adjudicators of the State Level Youth Festival, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, selected various items to be presented in forthcoming 26th National Youth Festival (NYF23) to be held from January 12 to January 16, 2023 at Hubbali- Dharwad, Karnataka.The Sarazi folk Dance (Kudd) item of District Doda and Kashmiri folk dance (Rouf) of Srinagar District and Budgam Folk Song also selectedIt is pertinent here to mention that the Youth Festival in India is an annual gathering of youth from various states and UT’s across India where contingents belonging from different regions show case their talent by displaying their culture which includes Folk dance, folk song, solo song, classical dance and many more so as to make sure our modern youth should remain intract with our rich culture. As rightly said by Swami Vivekananda youth icon, “If we want to bridge the gap between East and West we need to go to Vedas” and this youth festival is a one step further towards enriching and accomplishments of his objectives. This youth festival plays a very crucial role in shaping the lives of millions of youths across India as it helps them to interact with each other and thus knowing the culture of different states.Under the ample guidance of Band Master Doda Zaffrullah Khan and Anjum Riaz we were successful in achieved first position in inter district level and we are wholeheartedly thankful to these both wonderful, dynamic, charismatic personalities for their consistent support throughout. It was only through the ample guidance, dedication, hardwork and enthusiasm of District Officer YSS Doda Jaffer Ahmed Sheikh that we were able to bag first position for last 3 consecutive years at national level and now this time also Doda secured 1st in UT Level Competition young artists Sulinder Parihar Sarazi, Karan Sharma, Raj Kumar (Sarazi Patarkar of TLR) is continuously representing folk dance(Kodf/Dheku) along with others Boys Contingents Shelinder Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Sumit Kumar Manhas, Rishi Parihar, Maneet Parihar, Ranjit Singh (Flute Master) Sunil Kumar (Dhons Master) Mohd Syed (Jhalliya Master) Girls Contingents Simran Devi, Smile Rana, Shilpa Parihar, Shivani Devi, Neetu Sharma, Somia Banoo, Kanika Sharma, Vishali Devi, Reya KatochMeenakshi Gouria selected in Bharatnatyam and Allocation.Young Artists,Journalist Sulinder Parihar Sarazi said on the occasion starts his Kudd Folk Dance of Saraz with these words Namaskar, Adab vah Satsriakaal ma Sulinder Parihar Sarazi aur mere sath mere sarthi Doda se 2023 ka National Youth Festival ma ajj hum apka samna humare parmparik lok nretya jissa hum apni Sarazi basha ma Kudd or Bhaderwha ma Dakku Khete hai.Jiska ka varnan vado- purno ma melte hai, ase mana jte hai ki Badshah Akbar ka darbar ma b Dakku vah Kudd ka ayojan huwa karta tha ,Bhaderkashi ka raja VASUKI NAAG ji ka davara pura bhartvarsh ma iss naretya ko ujagar keye, Yeh jammu kashmir ka eklota ase naretya hai jiss ko ajj b kull Ki Devi Devto yah anyah tewhar ma Paramatma ko prasan krne ka sath sath shaddi vivah ma v iwsa darshaya jate hai. Further he added Myriad forms of folk songs and folk dances glorify the natural beauty of Jammu and Kashmir.Kud Dance is mainly preformed in villages during nights around a bonfire during the harvest season to pay obeisance to the Kul Devi- Devtas (local Deities). It is a kind of ritual performed by the villagers. It is the only folk dance of Jammu and Kashmir that is performed in the honour of Kul Devi- Devtas (local Deities) as a thanksgiving ceremony for the people’s wellbeing. So instead of entertainment, it has some religious values too. People of the villages believe that by performing Kudd dance they please their Devi-Devtas. So, it is preformed as gratitude towards the Kul Devtas for protecting and taking care of their crops, cattle, and children from all sorts’ of natural calamities. The beauty of the dance is that, people of all ages, men, and women can participate in the dance. People of all ages take part in it with the same enthusiasm. Now I'm very thankful to Youth Services and Sports of Jammu and Kashmir and other officers to help us to permote our Sarazi at National Level, our Sarazi Kudd Team selected to NYF feeling proud and energetic to perform our Sarazi culture at National Level.Zaffrullah Khan and Anjum Riaz Official instructor from YSS Doda said that our Sarazi culture and launguage is day by day including moribund launguages but we are trying with young talent and young artists from saraz to permote this moribund launguage wherein our collectively efforts one day native people, speakers come back to their culture and launguage.Karan Sharma another young artist said that with very energetic way Once again Doda Sarazi Kudd Team is unbeatable at UT Level Competition now we are ready for National Level Competition at Karnataka.Raj Kumar Sarazi Journalist and Promoter of Sarazi said that starts with slogans Jai Saraz,Jai Sarazi I'm very thankful to YS&S for organizing NYF Youth Festival Karnataka, India

Chairperson, Block Development Council, Gundna, Sarshad Natnoo reviews functioning of different Line departments of Block Gundna.*Rahi vijay Sharma*Chairperson, Block Development Council, Gundna, Sarshad Natnoo today convened a meeting with officers of different departments in his office chamber to review the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes, flagship programmes being implemented by the Line department's in Block Gundna.The meeting was attended by Sectoral Officers of different departments. In the meeting, detailed sector wise review was held which mainly includes farm machinery, distribution of quality seeds, Per Drop Per Crop under PMKSY, Integrated diary development under IDDS, Cattle feed units, Fodder Development scheme, Fasal Bima Yojana, KCC, PM-Kissan, Status of different schemes under execution, physical and financial achievements of different departments etc discussed in detail.The BDC Chairperson asked the officers to put in their dedicated efforts in accelerating the tempo of developmental activities pertaining to their departments so that desired targets could be achieved in a time bound manner. While reviewing the sector wise performance of Line Departments, the BDC Chairperson asked the officers to create awareness among the masses about the different income generating schemes by organizing camps in rural areas. He laid stress on enhancing the production of Mushroom, Honey, Saffron by encouraging the farming community about the cultivation of these crops.The BDC Chairperson further stressed upon the officers to rejuvenate their efforts for achievement of optimum results on ground so that the benefits of development percolate to the masses at gross root level espacially when poor people of rural areas are suffering in these times of covid pandemic.He said that participation in the planning process is mandatory for all the departments for implementation of Govt. schemes so that benefits of schemes reach to genuine beneficiaries.

*DC Doda holds interaction with media persons, briefed about present status of Covid-19 in the district*_Says admin has augmented sufficient bed capacity at various levels, monitoring regular supply of oxygen cylinders_*Majority of cases under home isolation,all are asymptomatic, medicine kits are being provided, Vaccination sites increased from 19 to 34*_Appeal people above 45 years to get vaccinated, asked locals to follow lockdown restrictions_*Rahi vijay Sharma*Doda,May 17:In order to disseminate accurate information regarding current Covid-19 scenario in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today held media briefing here at conference hall of DC office Doda.The DC informed that at present the tally of active cases in the district is 872 out of which majority of the cases are under home isolation and all of them are asymptomatic, besides medicine kits including pulse oximeter are also being provided to them by the designated teams as per the directions of Hon'ble LG UT of JK.The DC also urged people under home isolation to monitor their progress of recovery on daily basis, besides asked them to inform to the control room in case of any severity.Regarding bed capacity the DC informed that district has augmented sufficient bed capacity at different levels, adding to this said that there is no dearth of oxygen supply, besides supply is being daily monitored by the concerned.Regarding vaccination the DC informed that in order to initiate vaccination on larger level the vaccination sites have been increased from 19 to 34, besides urged people above 45 to get vaccinated at an earliest, adding to this says if demand from people of any area comes the Administration shall also organise special vaccination drive for them on priority.Regarding micro containment zones,the DC informed that till now 6 areas have been designated as per the frequency of positive cases in the area, besides said that testing is also being ensured and is ongoing till the entire population of the respective area is not tested.The DC asked the people to follow the lockdown restrictions, urged not to venture outside unnecessarily, besides asked the people above 45 yrs to get vaccinated at their nearest vaccination site on priority basis.
